A bodycam video captured police rescuing two children from a locked car at a Georgia mall as interior temps hit 117°F. Two young children were rescued from a hot car by police after being found locked in the vehicle in a mall parking lot outside Atlanta, according to county officials. Video of the rescue — which took place on June 4 at Cumberland Mall in Cobb County, Georgia — was shared by the Cobb County Police Department in a Facebook post on July 7.The police department's post features body camera footage of the incident, capturing the moments when the children are pulled from the hot car. The video opens with officers responding to a 911 call from a female bystander reporting that she sees "two children in a car by themselves, small kids crying" outside of a Dick's Sporting Goods store.At one point, an officer expresses that one, a boy, feels hot to the touch. “He was kind of panting,” the female bystander says of the boy. In the clip, a person who appears to be a mall security guard confirms over the phone that surveillance video showed the driver of the car leaving it at approximately 12:24 p.m.A bystander spotted two children crying and appearing to be overheated inside a parked car.
